24 7.06 Day 7: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM (2009)

Bill and Chloe pick up Agent Walker from her surprisingly neat shallow grave but she’s not breathing. Jack and Tony prepare for the next stage in their plans to apprehend / whatever Colonel Dubaku but their, and President Taylor’s, hope that Dubaku will exercise patience over his threat to kill American civilians are about to be extinguished.

7/10

The writers provide another crack at explaining Tony’s not-death but it wasn’t really necessary to remind us of a silly something we’ve already accepted (it’s used as to provide more meaning to the following scene). We don’t mind suspending our disbelief but we will start getting annoyed if you keep reminding us that we did so. In the side-plots, even though 24 does have a track record of killing off first-billed stars, it’s too early for Colm Feore’s First Hubby to be bumped off and so the tension from that situation has to come from whether the Carly Pope’s Samantha Roth is going to be offed or not. It is handled well enough and provides a nice break from the main story with Jack, Tony and the Matobo’s.

This 24 episode contains bad language and graphic gun violence, unpleasant and gory scenes.
