Slimm Stopwatch is a little stopwatch utility that automatically shrinks to the task bar when you start (or continue) the timer. While in the task bar it continues to show you the elapsed time. When you click the task bar to restore the window, the timer stops. I use it for timing public talks I deliver. I write the talk in Word and then need to practice it but I found all other stopwatch utilities always managed to be or feel in the way. So I wrote this.

Slimm GBPVR (obsolete)
![]() Download |
Enhanced system tray monitor for GB-PVR.
It is not designed to work with nPVR. Download the latest version or check for the latest version features and updates. I wrote this as I was using GB-PVR for recording but PowerDVD for playback. I am not using GB-PVR as a Media Centre and so required a small lightweight interface to launch recordings. Once I had written that, I thought of and was requested extra features that I integrated into the same paradigm.

Hey man. About the Bat to EXE converter, right now using the batch files I’ve created Steam’s Big Picture Mode in-game overlay doesn’t work. You can play the game, enter and exit just fine, but if you hit the guide button on the controller to message your friends or browse the web, nothing comes up. If I copy the mame executable and call it “nameofgame.exe” and add that to Steam, the overlay works fine, but it’s ~100MB in size so copying it x number of times would take up an enormous amount of space.
My guess is that the exe’s created using the converter are closing instantly after launching MAME, regardless of whether start or exit commands are called for. I haven’t been able to get around this, nothing seems to keep the converted exe open. Is there any way you can give this a try?
I am unable to recreate this problem. The Steam Overlay comes up fine in Desktop mode and in Big Picture mode.
I am using MAME 0.145 (Feb 5 2012). This is my batch file to run 1941:
@Echo OffCd "E:\Users\***\Downloads\MAME"
"E:\Users\***\Downloads\MAME\mame.exe" 1941.zip -autosave
It’s funny because I just copied that word for word into a batch file, converted it to exe, and ran it through both regular Steam and BPM and neither allowed the overlay. Xbox guide button does nothing and neither does Shift+Tab. May have to take a video of it.
I just put this together really quickly to demonstrate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZvZqtTOQvo
The Steam Overlay doesn’t work in all games and we seem to be running into that issue here. It does work in the older 1941 emulator but doesn’t in the newer Hyper Street Fighter 2 emulator. It looks like we’ve just run into a area where it is a case-by-case situation. I would go on to presume that all the ROMs that use the same emulator as Hyper Street Fighter 2 will have the same problem.
As a condolence, have this Steam custom image for Hyper Street Fighter 2: http://misterslimm.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/hyper-street-fighter-2.jpg
Ah. Thanks you!
Hi, I was wondering if there’s an update for Windows 7 (I’ve been forced to upgrade)… when I start the clock, it minimizes to just the icon and doesn’t show the running clock… I’ve always loved this little program!
I run Windows 7 and it works fine for me. Please check your Taskbar buttons setting. You can find this by right-clicking an empty area of the taskbar and the setting is under the Taskbar tab in the Taskbar appearance group. If Taskbar buttons is set to “Always combine, hide labels”, that would explain this behaviour. I have mine set to “Combine when taskbar is full”. If your setting is the latter and your taskbar is full, that might also explain the behaviour. In that case, you can try ticking the “Use small icons” box to give yourself a bit more room. Hope this helps. Regards.
