The Expendables 2 (2012)

A routine retrieval for the Expendables becomes a mission of revenge when Jean-Claude Van Damme takes Sly’s knife.

Enjoyably rolling out classics one-liners and literally decimating about 300% of the henchmen in Albania, this extremely simple wall-to-wall action shoot-’em-up, thanks to enough well-judged buddy-buddy moments, just about avoids violence fatigue and delivers exactly what it promised: Sly shooting goons, Schwarzenegger shooting baddies and Willis shooting evildoers. Preferably while chewing giant cigars. Done. Between them and Liam Neeson (in Taken), it’s a surprise that’s there’s any criminal element left in Albania at all.

This movie contains bad language and extreme, graphic and extremely gory extended violence (we ain’t kidding).

Classified 15 by BBFC. Suitable only for persons of 15 years and over.
